Before the beginning
On the 23rd of February 1925, Cyril Andrews began his insurance career at “The London & Lancashire Insurance Company Ltd’’ at a salary of £5.00 per month. Cyril served at this company for many years to come and earned great experience in the insurance industry.
Foundations
The apple didn’t fall far from the tree with Cyril’s son, Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Andrews.
Ronnie worked his way up the insurance industries corporate ladder becoming a prominent leader in the field. He would later become the deputy Managing Director of IGI, South Africa’s largest domestic insurer at the time.
It didn’t take long for Ronnie’s sons to follow in his footsteps, both of whom are still working in the industry today.

Neil Andrews began his career at IGI in 1986.
Later in 1992 he founded Andrews Insurance Brokers, committed to providing personalised service and expert advice to his clients.
The business had humble beginnings, but through a commitment to service and through word of mouth the business would grow from strength to strength in the years that followed.
The 4th generation
Sean Andrews, Neil’s eldest son, then joined the industry after completing his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Sean applied his legal knowledge to the insurance market, bringing with it a fresh approach to financial advice.
This formidable father and son team work hand in hand, combining years of insurance experience with technical knowledge, taking the company to new heights.
Core Principles
While the business continues to grow, the key focus remains on the founding principles of client servicing and insurance expertise.
The Andrews name has a long and proud history in the insurance market and Andrews Insurance Brokers represents the continuation of this long and proud legacy.
